The Delaware Golf Trip 2025

Every year, there’s that one golf trip that becomes the story everyone tells for the rest of the season. For us, DE Golf Trip 2025 was exactly that… three rounds, twelve guys, two teams, and one app that kept the entire thing perfectly organized: Birdie Board.

We headed to southern Delaware for the weekend, a mix of open fairways, tricky greens, and some light-hearted trash talk that only golf buddies can pull off. The teams were split evenly: six on Red, six on Blue. Each round had a new format, but every hole mattered. One point for a win, half for a tie, none for a loss. Simple, pure competition, all tracked shot-for-shot through Birdie Board.

Round 1 – Heritage Shores

We kicked things off at Heritage Shores, playing the championship tees at 6,430 yards (71.0/138). The course was in perfect shape… long, open fairways that invited big drives, with greens that punished anything less than precise.

The format was a 6v6 combined Stableford, where each team’s hole score came from their collective performance. Every hole felt like a group effort, six golfers grinding toward a single team score.

Through eighteen holes, Birdie Board made it effortless. Everyone could see how the team was performing in real time, the live scoring fed a mix of excitement and mild panic as the Blue Team edged out a slim 10–8 lead to close the day.

When the round wrapped, Birdie Board’s Feathered Feats page painted the story in stats:

  • Cam started strong, earning early recognition as a Tee Titan.

  • Matt held steady with Straight Shooter honors for consistency.

  • Ryan M. scored a net hole-in-one.

And despite a couple “Mulligan Moments” (we won’t name names), spirits were high heading into day two.

Round 2 – Baywood Greens

Baywood Greens was about beauty. It’s easily one of the most picturesque tracks in Delaware. The white tees (6,198 yards, 70.2/134) gave just enough challenge without being cruel. The round format switched to 2v2 best ball, creating three matches and 54 total points up for grabs.

Here’s how it went down:

  • Cam/Noah (Red) vs. Matt/Ryan M (Blue): Red came out hot, snagging an 11–7 win.

  • bowwow/Doug (Red) vs. Tbaits/Corey (Blue): This one went back and forth all day, nearly even, with Blue narrowly ahead 9.5–8.5.

  • Josh/2 Way Miss Ry (Red) vs. Patrick H./sweet Joey b (Blue): Another tight one, but Red edged it 10.5–7.5.

When the dust settled, Red Team surged ahead, earning 30 points to Blue’s 24, flipping the overall match to 38–34 in their favor. And of course, Birdie Board’s round recap showed it all, instantly, beautifully organized:

  • Ryan M. caught fire, taking Hot Streak honors with an 8-hole run.

  • Matt continued his reputation as the Straight Shooter, holding a steady card across the round.

  • sweet Joey b lived up to the Sixes Wild title with more holes at 6+ than anyone.

  • And Tbaits, well… his Hole Horror on #10 might still be a topic of conversation next year.

By the end of the day, Birdie Board wasn’t just keeping score, it was building the story.

Round 3 – Links at St. Annes

Everything came down to the final day at The Links at St. Annes. Playing the white tees (6,145 yards, 69.6/125), it was anyone’s match. The format shifted to 1v1 net stroke play, six head-to-head matchups and 108 points on the line. Every hole mattered.

Here’s how the day unfolded:

  • Cam (Red) vs. Matt (Blue): Two low-handicap players trading punches all day. Cam finished strong, winning 11–7.

  • Noah (Red) vs. Ryan M. (Blue): Dead even, 9–9… the kind of match that defines friendly competition.

  • bowwow (Red) vs. Tbaits (Blue): Another hard-fought 9–9 draw.

  • Corey (Blue) vs. Doug (Red): A blowout. Corey caught absolute fire, winning 15–3, the biggest margin of the weekend.

  • Patrick H. (Blue) vs. Josh (Red): Similar story here, Patrick went on a tear, 12.5–5.5.

  • 2 Way Miss Ry (Red) vs. sweet Joey b (Blue): A tight battle between high handicaps, with Ry taking it 10–8.

When all the Birdie Board scores synced and the final points tallied, the Blue Team had stormed back. Their 60.5–47.5 round gave them a final victory: 94.5 to 85.5. Birdie Board’s final Feathered Feats summary was the cherry on top:

  • Ryan M. claimed both Hot Streak and Tee Titan titles with an incredible 68 net.

  • Josh locked up Hole Horror with a 12 on a nasty par 3.

  • Matt once again took Straight Shooter, a model of consistency.

The stats told the full story, but the Birdie Board experience told the real one: how effortless it was to track, celebrate, and relive it all. No spreadsheets, no arguments…just pure competition and great golf memories.

Closing Thoughts

After 54 holes across three courses, the Blue Team rose victorious, 94.5 to 85.5, earning a victory round at the Philadelphia Country Club.

Birdie Board captured every moment of it. Every hole. Every point. Every inside joke and bragging right. And that’s what made this trip different, not just the courses or the competition, but how easy it was to see the story unfold in real time.

There’s something satisfying about being able to look back and relive the match exactly as it happened. For a group of friends, that’s what Birdie Board is all about keeping the game honest, competitive, and fun.
